Action on Legislation
Each year, the Chamber takes
positions on issues that impacts the Long Beach business
community. Potential laws are listed below, including a summary
and a prepared letter of support or opposition for your to
submit.
The Chamber will be reviewing new potential laws in early 2010
for you to take action on with your letter. In the meantime,
below is a review of our work in 2009.

The 27 Most Important State
Legislative Proposals of 2009 for the Long Beach Business
Community and How Long Beach's Legislators Voted
This past year was another busy
year for the Long Beach Area Chamber of Commerce as the Chamber
focused its advocacy efforts on the 27 most important
legislative proposals that would have the greatest impact on the
Long Beach business community. The Chamber studied each proposal
and took a position of support or opposition by communicating
those positions with each Long Beach legislator. This year, most
legislators scored below the 50 percent mark, with the exception
of State Senator Rod Wright and Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.
